For the second installment of our Premiering Potters series, please help us welcome Lucas May to the store! Lucas grew up in Rhode Island and moved to Western Massachusetts to attend Hampshire College, graduating in the spring of 2020. In 2023 he completed a 3 year apprenticeship with Maya Machin, learning more about the wood-firing process. He now works out of his studio in Northampton.

“As an artist, I’m drawn to ceramics because of the connection between physical touch and the marks we leave behind. Clay, as a medium, serves as a tangible recorder of our history, bearing witness to the marks we make upon the world and upon each other. These are marks and scars passed through generations, an ongoing conversation I feel privileged to partake in.”

Opening Reception will be on June 14th from 5-8pm. Wine and light snacks will be served!
